The Gun Sculpture installation was created by Canadian artists Sandra Bromley and Wallis Kendal. It was created with international support to creatively challenge cultures of violence.

It took five years to complete and had its Canadian premier exhibition in Edmonton at the Art Gallery of Alberta (former EAG) and its European premier as a featured exhibit in the Canadian Pavilion, Expo 2000 in Hannover, Germany .....more

Interesting Facts

  • Over  8000 Weapons Were Donated From Countries Around The World, 7000 Were Used In The  Gun Sculpture. Smaller Works Were Made With The Remaining 1000

  • Although the Gun Sculpture weights five tons it was made to tour and comes apart into 14 units for crating and shipping 

  • The artists personally deactivated over 4000 guns
